Meet Jennifer

Human beings rarely get out of this life without some type of trauma or stressors. First Responders experience traumatic events most every day they show up for work. My vision is to meet people with presence and compassion to help bring healing from trauma for their Body, Mind, and Spirit - especially First Responders and their families. I help my clients uncover their authentic selves and form healthy relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe.

I have been trained in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®.  This therapeutic modality utilizes somatic experiences to assist the client in releasing trauma from the body, and the horse coach assists in processing the experience. The two-year program includes trauma-informed training and I approach the work with an emphasis on the client’s strengths and abilities, rather than a deficit-based approach. I am partnering with the Second Chance Ranch sanctuary for retired sport horses to offer this unique form of therapy.

My training also includes healing energy work as a Certified Karuna Reiki Master®. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) harnesses the unseen energy that flows through all living things and directly affects a person’s well-being. When your energy is low, it is more difficult to deal with stress. Reiki promotes stress-reduction, relaxation, and healing.

My background includes a career working with several non-profit agencies in leadership positions, including a domestic violence shelter, a Habitat for Humanity affiliate, and a conservation group. My current position in the Spokane Police Department (SPD) has provided me invaluable insight into the lives and struggles of First Responders.  It has fueled my passion to provide a safe-space for healing from trauma and coping with their career, as well as assist them in building healthy relationships. Working at SPD has also provided me the opportunity to meet and marry my true life partner, and my “street-cred” public relations partner, Sergeant Dave who has worked in law enforcement for almost 30 years.
